That stump stops here. Ground out, gone, forgotten.

That stump stops here. Ground out, gone, forgotten.

Stumps are the uninvited guest that never leaves. They trip the kids, blunt the mower, host termites, shoot sucker growth — and anchor the memory of a tree you chose to remove.

Our grinders chew stumps down well below ground level, roots and all, turning years of annoyance into a pile of useful mulch in under an hour (most stumps). Then you rake it flat, throw down some soil and seed — and it’s like the tree was never there. Unless you’d like a new one planted in its place. We do that too.

What you get with Treesafe

  • Any size, any species — From shrub bases to metre-wide fig stumps — we have grinders for confined spaces and monsters alike.
  • Ground below grade — Ground out 150–300mm below the surface so lawn, paving or new planting can go straight over the top.
  • Termite & regrowth prevention — Removing the stump removes the food source termites love and stops persistent sucker regrowth.
  • Instant mulch — The grindings make excellent garden mulch — or we remove them entirely. Your choice.

Questions, answered honestly

How much does stump grinding cost on the Sunshine Coast?

Small stumps typically start around $150–$250, with larger stumps priced by diameter and access. Bundled with a tree removal it’s even better value — the quote is free.

Can you grind stumps in tight spots?

Yes — our narrow-access grinders fit through standard gates and can work beside pools, fences and garden beds with care.

Will the tree grow back from the stump?

Grinding below the collar prevents regrowth in most species. For persistent species like camphor laurel we can treat the stump to guarantee it.

What about the roots?

Grinding removes the stump and major root flare. Remaining roots die off naturally and quietly underground — they don’t need removal for lawns or gardens.
